Haslam Family Events 2004
December 14, 2004 - Jared is assigned a new missionary Elder Nielson from Kalispell Montana to train in Grants' New Mexico.
December 1, 2004 - Michael was selected as Hillcrest High School's nominee in the category of Mathematics in the annual KSL-Deseret Morning News Sterling Scholar awards program. The announcement was made at the annual Sterling Scholar assembly.
November 23, 2004 - Angela started her senior year of basketball at Hillcrest High School with a new uniform, but the same number "22" which honors her brother Jared.
November 6, 2004 - Angela is choosen a member of the Academic All-State Volleyball team for class 5A along with teammates Tori Gardner and Heidi Smith. The team was composed of 10 members, 3 of which were from Hillcrest High School. They were presented their awards before the 5A championship volleyball game at the McKay events center at Utah Valley State College, Orem, Utah.

October 11, 2004 - The Haslams along with Ashley Kessler take fall break to St. George Utah. See the pictures (mostly from Zion's National Park).
September 18, 2004 - The Haslam Family Reunion 2004 was held. Here are all the photographs. Later we will edit these down to "just the best".
September 9, 2004 - The last part of the Haslam homestead in Holladay Utah was sold.
September 2, 2004 - Angie's senior season of volleyball has begun. Follow the Hillcrest High Girl's volleyball team at the unofficial home of Husky Athletics.
August 10, 2004 - Jared is transferred to Placitas, New Mexico (northest of Albuquerque) to serve as district leader and senior companion.
July 14, 2004 - The twins AP test results are in..... U.S. History Angela 5, Michael 4, Calculus AB Angela 5, Statistics Michael 5, Physics Michael 5. Wow!
July 10, 2004 - Reed's brother John, his wife Gale, son Kirk daughter-in-law Debbie and their 3 children Amber, Nicholas and Dillon ended their 12 day visit to relatives in Utah.
June 13, 2004 - Reed and Sherry return from their 25th Anniversary celebration in Cabo San Lucas Mexico. See the photos.
June 5, 2004 - Rob returned from a month in Japan on a study abroad program. He loves Japan more now than when he returned from his mission. He took 330 photos.
June 1, 2004 - Angela was called to serve on the Hillcrest Seminary council for the 2004-2005 school year representing the Sandy Utah Midvalley stake.
May 31, 2004 - Rob spent his final weekend in Japan with the Iwaki family in Kawanishi were he and Ty Hanks served as missionaries. On Saturday they visited Nara the ancient capitol of Japan (before Kyoto), and went to a baseball game in Nagoya. On Sunday they attended church at the new building in Kawanishi.
May 24, 2004 - Rob spent the weekend in Tokyo area. He and Tyler Hanks had a great time. They first met the Kawaharada family in Chibba. This is the family they had met at the airport in Los Angeles when they flew to Japan. They had a wonderful time with them Friday night and Saturday morning. The dinner, lunch and hotel room they were treated to were simply spectacular. Then they went to the Temple (which had closed for the day) and then on to southern Tokyo to spend the night with a former Bishop with whom the Iwaki family was familiar. Eme Iwaki came up from Kawanishi to join them. They attended church the next day where they met Elder Toya with whom they had served in the mission field. Elder Toya is now married and expecting their first child later this summer.
May 18, 2004 - Elder Jared Haslam was transferred from Farmington New Mexico to the Sage Ward, Los Lunas New Mexico Stake in Albuquerque. His companion Elder Britton returns home to Jamaica on June 29th. For the details see Jared's Mission page.
May 17, 2004 - Rob reports having a wonderful weekend visiting with his former Mission President (Whitesides) and finding the new home of the Fukuoka's the couple he batiszed almost 2 years ago. He also enjoyed attending the ward in Inuyama Japan where he served the final days of his mission.
May 12, 2004 - Rob reports a safe arrival in Nagano Japan and reports having a wonderful host family. The father of the host family was a bit disappointed that Rob was not going to be a new "drinking buddy".
May 8, 2004 - Rob departs on a 1-month study abroad program to Japan. It has been 21 months since he completed his mission in Japan. He will be studying in Nagano (home of the 1998 Winter Olympics) at Shinshu University. He has a friend from his missionary days Ty Hanks who is going with him. They plan to spend their weekends visiting the areas of central Japan where they served their missions.

April 2, 2004 - The 3rd biennial Thailand Bangkok "Old Heads Reunion" was held in Sandy, Utah. View the pictures.
March 20, 2004 - Rob and his friends won the 19-29 year old recreation division at the "Hall of fame 3 on 3 basketball tournament" held at Salt Lake Community college. Now if the can find the money they can attend the national tournament at Disney World in September. Rob made the "3" to win their toughest game in the quarterfinals.
February 25, 2004 - theHaslams.com tripled its upload speed by switching to Qwest Choice DSL Deluxe which provides 1500 KBits/sec download and 896K KBits/sec upload.
February 24, 2004 - The Hillcrest Huskies Boy's varsity team lost their final game of the season 55-56 to Copper Hills on a desperation 3-point shot (by a Copper Hills player who had not scored the whole game) in double overtime to close the books on their 2004 season.
February 23, 2004 - Jared departed for Albuquerque where he met President Mansell and spent the night at the mission home. He was assigned to Farmington New Mexico the next day.
February 5, 2004 - Angela has a stress fracture in her right foot and will miss the final 4 games of the Hillcrest girl's basketball season. The Lady Huskies won their 2nd region game of the season against the Jordan Beetdiggers.
February 4, 2003 - Jared entered the Missionary Training Center (MTC) as he began 2 years of missionary service. Approximately 400 Elders and Sisters began their missions this day at the Provo MTC.
